PETALING JAYA: Green Billing — an eco-friendly mobile phone billing system developed by PJ-based Sedania Corporation Sdn Bhd — was the only Asian nominee at the Mobile Premier Awards 2001 during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, early this year.
In a statement, Sedania group chief executive officer Azrin Mohd Noor, said: “It is a great honour to receive this global recognition. It shows our dedication and passion in creating innovative solutions that are eco-friendly for our customers. We see it as our responsibility to help our customers take the initial step to fight climate change.
"With the threat of global warming and rising energy costs, producing green technology solutions such as Green Billing helps to reduce carbon footprint and minimise waste. Green Billing also helps mobile operators save costs by eliminating the printing and physical mailing of statements."
Developed with green practices in mind, Green Billing allows paperless phone bills to be sent to customers directly into their mobile phones, anywhere, at anytime. Customers can pay bills using mobile devices, thus avoiding late payments and penalty fees.
Azrin, an eco-entrepreneur, said: “It is our responsibility here at Sedania to drive awareness and create a push factor for eco-friendly products. We want our upcoming generation to enjoy a healthy and greener earth in the future. That is why we will continue investing our time and energy in research and development of green technology solutions.”
Green Billing was also recently listed as a finalist for best mobile applications at the NEF-Awani ICT Awards 2010 co-organised by PJ-based New Entrepreneur Forum (NEF) and Astro's Awani channel.
